We believe the solution to helping save the sturgeon from extinction in the wild, is education, through projects like the (Sturgeon Preservation & Education Centre) SPEC.
With the right team and sufficient funding this can still happen.

The Sturgeon Preservation & Education Centre (SPEC) is a remarkable initiative soon to be located in Yorkshire, here’s what you need to know:
Mission: The SPEC aims to save the magnificent sturgeon from extinction.
Unique Approach: Unlike other sturgeon farms that needlessly kill up to 3,000,000 fish per year, the process used at SPEC can produce caviar without harming the fish.
Epic Design: The SPEC property showcases how sturgeon are spawned, with the eggs used for food, beauty products, or health products. Alternatively, they grow the fish to maturity and hope to release them into conservation lakes or re-establish in rivers offering their natural habitat.
Educational Focus: Educating people about sturgeon preservation is a top priority for the SPEC, starting in Yorkshire, then moving across the UK, and beyond.

The solution is education through projects like the (Sturgeon Preservation & Education Centre) SPEC. However, things like COVID and the cost of living crisis got in the way.
With the right team and sufficient funding this could still happen.
Our KC Caviar company was the first Caviar company to run a promotion with a National Supermarket - Aldi placed KC "British" Caviar into 653 stores on the 19th Dec 2018. On the back of that we had enquiries from around the world asking how to start a No Kill Caviar farm. The decision was taken to launch Dariqus Ltd with the sole purpose of helping prospective "no kill" farmers anywhere on the planet to open a farm. The interest grew then something called COVID arrived shutting down hospitality sites, reducing caviar sales by 90% overnight and brought new farm interest to a halt. Consequently both KC and Dariqus suspended trading activity and released the staff in Feb 2024.
Fortuitously, after securing assistance from a friend, we were able to create Kenkona which is based at the serendipity site in Yorkshire, and was granted change of use planning consent in 2023, and where we recreated the Caviar and fish importing businesses whilst adding a range of other products on the website site, every item benefits huge discounts.
Since then, Kenkona has satisfied the Selby trading standards department that all is in order and has been granted a Pet Sellers licence by Selby council then received a DEFRA fish health certificate for the establishment, plus received approval from the Selby Environmental Health Officer and is registered with CITES.
